Our Short Courses
This workshop provides you with a powerful and effective understanding of transitions, life changes and how we can take a pro-active approach to overcome negative cycles we can find ourselves in. With a hands-on teaching approach, you will have ample opportunity to practise newly acquired techniques and approaches. You will return to work with a clarity of the states we can find ourselves in when faced with particularly difficult periods and toolkits of how we can change our focus and help others who may be experiencing difficult times in their lives.
By the end of the session you will have learnt:

- Maintaining healthy behaviours
- The language we use
- Fixed and growth mindsets
- Piecing together the puzzle
In this short session you will learn about the emotional responses to change and the challenges major change and life events present. You will explore the typical events that we face as we travel through life, and how we can best manage these changes so that we can come through them successfully. The course has been carefully constructed to include evidence-based theory and practical coping tools from psychology and cognitive behavioural therapy along with detailed connection to the workplace environment.
By the end of the session you will have learnt:
- Why change happens – some real-life examples
- An understanding of the emotional stages of major change
- Looking out for signs of distress in during times of change
- Changing our view of change
- Coping tools in support of our wellbeing
The aim of this course is to gain an understanding of what financial wellbeing means and how poor financial wellbeing can impact our lives. The course also provides different strategies that can be used to support individual’s own financial wellbeing, or to use as guidance when talking to colleagues/friends who may be struggling.
By the end of the course you will have learnt:
- What financial wellbeing is and how it impacts us
- Why we might get stuck in a negative cycle
- Strategies to help get out of this cycle
- Which organisations can provide further support
This session will provide you with a better understanding of active listening techniques. You will learn about the concept of supportive listening and explore the barriers and obstacles. You will understand the impact of your body language and other factors such as tone of voice and the environment in which you have a conversation. This course has been carefully constructed to include evidence-based along with detailed connection to the workplace environment.
The workshop topics are:
- Exploring active listening
- Techniques to improve listening skills
- Exploring body language and hidden signs
- Pitfalls and barriers to listening well
- Supportive listening in a virtual world
This workshop provides you with an introduction to an early intervention and prevention model that has been developed to provide a structured approach to supporting anyone who may be facing mental wellbeing challenges. You will work through the four steps with your facilitator, to enable you to feel more confident in your role and approach to supporting a person who needs your help.
The workshop topics are:
- What triggers may impact a person’s mental wellbeing
- How to spot early signs of poor mental health
- What to say when someone is struggling to cope
- How to provide appropriate support to someone who is struggling
- What signposting options are available
This short session provides you with a self-audit and to apply the Circle of Control to manage your worries and stresses that can cause you anxiety. The model was developed in line with principles from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and will help you to have more power over the things you feel are out of control.
By the end of the session, you will have learnt:
- Understand what resilience is and your own levels
- Reflect on your own self audit
- Apply the Circle of Control to your life
- How to build a growth mindset
- Positive steps to improve your mental health wellbeing
To provide you with an understanding on how winter can impact you and others. To identify hints and tips to help you during the winter season.
By the end of the session you will have learnt:
- How winter impacts our physical and mental health
- What you can do prepare for winter
- What Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)
- Practical tips to support yourself and others
- Spotting the signs of who may be struggling
