Pride Month: Never be ashamed of who you are

Throughout Pride Month, we celebrate with the LGBTQIA+ community, and the ongoing campaign for acceptance and equality.

Being LGBTQIA+ doesn’t cause mental health problems, and yet those of us that are LGBTQIA+ are known to be more likely to suffer with mental health issues for reasons because of:

  • Discrimination
  • Homophobia
  • Transphobia
  • Social isolation
  • Rejection
  • Difficult experiences coming out

The sad thing is that many of these are avoidable.

No one’s mental health should suffer simply because of their sexual orientation or gender identity – never be ashamed of who you are.
