Isle Listen and Treasury Partner to Enable Young People’s Potential
October 1, 2025

Following a media release from The Treasury last week announcing the department’s new Making Work Worthwhile initiative, Isle Listen is delighted to announce the launch of Enable Potential, a programme which will deliver key elements of the scheme including coaching, training and psychological support.
The Making Work Worthwhile initiative has been established by Treasury to address challenges faced by those who have been out of work for an extended period of time. Isle Listen’s strengths of psychological expertise, coaching and education fit the initiative perfectly, and the charity is keen to expand its services further into the Manx community.
Speaking of Enable Potential, Andrea Chambers, Chief Executive at Isle Listen said: “At Isle Listen, we believe every young person deserves the chance to flourish, no matter the challenges they face. We are proud to be partnering with the Treasury Department to deliver a programme designed to guide young adults aged 18–30 towards a brighter future.”
Andrea continued, “By bringing together therapy, coaching and education we will support participants to grow in confidence, develop valuable life skills, and engage with opportunities that might once have felt out of reach”
The programme will be headed up by Isle Listen’s Gareth Nicholson. Speaking of the programme, Gareth said: “I’m delighted to be getting this project off the ground. Enable Potential will do exactly what it says on the tin, enabling our Island’s young people to achieve their full potential. Through positive action including practical skills such as CV writing, mock interviews, digital and financial wellbeing, our first cohort will acquire all the tools and support they need to allow a positive transition back into the workplace.”
The programme will run as a pilot scheme, starting this autumn, and will focus on 25 individuals over six months. Ultimately, Making Work Worthwhile with Enable Potential is about helping young people to build resilience, develop confidence, and achieve a sustainable future.
