A Walk Between Two Castles

We’ll begin our journey inside the ancient walls of Peel Castle, setting off along the River Neb before a section of the west coast, then heading inland through rolling countryside. We will finish a few hours later within the historic Castle Rushen in Castletown. This unique route links two of the Isle of Man’s most iconic landmarks, making for a truly memorable day of walking through both nature and history. Please note, whilst this walk follows recognised routes, we have made some adjustments for safety and logistical reasons. There will be way-markers and marshals in place on the day to help you navigate from Castle to Castle.

Every step you take will help raise vital funds for Isle Listen, supporting young people’s mental health via our vital mental health education programme in schools.

Whether you’re walking solo, with friends, family, or colleagues, this is a wonderful opportunity to get active, enjoy the fresh air, and make a positive difference. At approximately 15 miles, this achievable but challenging walk makes a great training exercise for those tackling the 2026 Parish Walk!

Sign up now and walk for wellbeing!

Event FAQs

Please have a read of our event FAQs below. If you still have any questions, please email our friendly fundraising team: fundraising@islelisten.im

As the event crosses farmland and takes place in lambing season, dogs are NOT permitted.

You must wear wear grippy soled and supportive footwear such as walking boots, walking trainers or trail running shoes. The course has some boggy sections and whilst every action will be taken to prepare and improve these before the event, we cannot guarantee it will be dry and easy to navigate under foot. In some areas the terrain is uneven and may include tree roots, loose rocks etc.

The weather can be changeable in March so we would recommend warm and waterproof clothing layers including a hat and sun protection. Don’t forget drinking water and snacks.

Absolutely, for those keen trail runners we are opening the event to walkers and runners. Runners will set off first. If you intend to run, please indicate this on the registration form.

There will be a checkpoint and refreshment station at Round Table (approximately half way). Please bring your own food and drink to sustain you throughout the walk. Food and drink will be available to purchase in Castletown at the end of the walk.

Our team will be on site at Peel Castle from 7:00am, taking on the day registrations and signing in registered participants. Please arrive no later than 7:30am to sign in with us, and attend the compulsory safety briefing at 07:45am. Runners setting off at 8:00am and walkers setting off at 08:15am.

The number 8 bus runs between Castletown and Peel on Sundays. There are two afternoon buses at 14:19 and 16:19. Alternatively we recommend car sharing. You can view the bus timetable here.
