Making Work Worthwhile with Enable Potential

We understand that getting back into work, training, or even figuring out what’s next can feel overwhelming. If you’ve been out of work for a while, it’s easy to lose confidence or feel unsure of where to start. That’s exactly why Isle Listen have created Enable Potential, to help people with their journey into the workplace.

Commissioned by The Treasury, Enable Potential is a free, six-month pilot programme designed to support 18–30 year olds who have been receiving benefits for 6 months or more, in taking the next step with the right guidance.

Enable Potential brings together coaching, therapy, and practical training to help you build confidence, develop new skills, and explore opportunities at your own pace. You’ll work with a personal coach who will help you set achievable goals, whether that’s getting into work, starting an apprenticeship, or returning to education. Our workshops will teach you real-world skills, from writing an effective CV to managing stress and overcoming workplace challenges. Supportive therapy sessions are available to help you overcome any self-doubt or fears that may be holding you back.

Through the programme you’ll gain:

  • Practical tools to improve your employability and career readiness
    • Therapeutic support to build resilience and boost wellbeing
      • Networking opportunities with like-minded young people on the same journey
        • A clear pathway towards your next steps, whether in work, training, or education

The best part? You won’t be doing this alone. With only 25 places available, you’ll be part of a small, supportive community where you can build connections, share experiences, and form lasting friendships. Even if you don’t land a job right away, you’ll finish the programme with a stronger mindset, improved skills, and a clear plan for your next steps.

The pilot programme is due to start in October 2025 and run until March 2026. To put your mind at ease, taking part in this programme will not affect your benefits! You can continue receiving your current allowances while participating fully.

This is a fun, engaging, and supportive programme that focuses on your potential and helps you achieve your next career goals. If this sounds like something you’d like to explore, we’d love to chat. Taking the first step can feel daunting, but we’ll be with you every step of the way.

More about you

As part of the Enable Potential Programme, we want to make sure we fully understand what support would be most helpful for you. To do this, we’d like to ask you to complete a short questionnaire called the Work and Social Adjustment Scale (W&SAS). This is a simple, five-question survey that helps us understand how different areas of life—such as work, home, and social activities—might be affected by mental health challenges. There are no right or wrong answers, please just answer as honestly as possible. Your answers to these questions will not impact your eligibility for the programme, and answers will be kept confidential and used only to help guide your personal development plan. If you have any concerns or would like support completing it, please let us know. For each question, please select the number that best fits your current situation.
